On Monday, 19/3/2018, the 1st Workshop of the FootApp project with title “Football in Development Ages and Connection with Technology” took place with great success in the Le Chalet Hotel’s Event Hall.
The event was attended by a crowd of people from the sport sector in the local area. The workshop started with the greeting of the President of the project lead partner and organizer of the workshop “MAS ARIS PETEINOU”, Mr. Filippos Parastatidis. The president referred to the content of the FootApp project and stressed the importance of the club’s participation in the European sport program – ERASMUS +.
Subsequently, Mr. Konstantinos Zagnaferis, the Deputy Governor of the region “Eastern Macedonia and Thrace”, and Thomas Michoglou, the Mayor of “Topeiros”, addressed greetings in the meeting. Both of them stressed the importance of such events for the development of the region’s sport. Mrs. Girtziki Alexia, Deputy Mayor of Sport of the Municipality of Xanthi, and Giorgos Panidis – EPC President of Xanthi addressed greetings too.
Following was the presentation of Mr. Kyranoudis Aggelos, Professor of Physical Education and Sport Science – Coach trainer UEFA Pro, who in his speech analyzed the influence of the relative age on the development of young footballers.
Then, Mr. Antonis Nikopolidis, the Coach of the Greek National Team U21, spoke about the children’s selection procedure, the criteria, the evaluation procedure and the monitoring and development systems of the athletes, that the national team of Greece follows.
Mr. Antonios Stamatis, Member of the technical team of the Greek National Football Team of Greece, analyzed the scouting form and talked about the technology in football.
An important placement was made by Mr. Torosidis Vasilis, the Captain of the Greek National Football Team. Initially, he expressed his excitement for the organizing such an interesting event in Xanthi, the place where he made his first football steps. After that, he analyzed his personal journey from Xanthi’s football academies to the international recognition.
The conference completed with various interesting questions from attendees to the workshop speakers.
